Sydney Grace Pistol Loose pigment ($ 6.00 for 0.14 oz.) Has a lighter, reddish-plum-colored base that is very strong in its warmer undertone with alternating blue-blue-green sheen. It was incredibly sparkling, which gave it a chunkier consistency that was difficult to smooth out and apply evenly to bare skin even when I was working with a glue spray or my fingertip.
There was a lot of rainfall, and it would work better layered over a similarly colored base as it ended up looking more broken and uneven if the light didn’t reflect off the sparkle. The coverage was rather medium to semi-opaque; The base just didn’t seem to be getting through as much as it seems. The paint portion seemed to stay on for about eight hours, but there was moderate failure over time unless I used an adhesive spray.
The brand has indicated that they “work best when used wet with a fixing spray, eye drops or water”. When I only used a dampened brush with water, the application was similar to an adhesive spray, but there were still some failures. Other colors that I tried in this formula were much easier to work with and required fewer helpers to work decently.

It can be worn on its own, although the brand recommends a “mixed media or glitter glue” to avoid breakdowns. The loose consistency was denser and heavier, which made the job less messy than some finely ground (but very powdery) loose eye shadow formulas. They were very pigmented without much product and had a similar coverage that was applied both dry and wet.
Wet application typically resulted in smoother, more metallic surfaces and fewer failures compared to dry application. The dry application required a little more finesse, as the product was best applied by tapping and pressing and then gently smoothing it out, otherwise it would fall out a bit during application. A few shades that looked more sparkling looked a little chunkier on my skin when I used them dry (but were smoother and more forgiving when I used them wet). They lasted between seven and eight hours before they wrinkled.
