That is profound

That is profound is a medium-dark purple with subtle, warm undertones and a pearlescent sheen. It had intense pigmentation in a single layer that was applied evenly to bare skin as the consistency was smooth and slightly creamy, but in the end it was a little too soft to work on my eyelid with a dry brush as it was didn’t want to stick / hold as expected. It took more pressure to be pressed against the skin than was comfortable to my eye (with a brush), so you should probably use this with a dampened brush or fingertip for the best adhesion. It lasted for a good eight hours before it faded noticeably.

Formula overview

$ 4.50 / 0.05 oz. – $ 90.00 per ounce

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is said to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra velvety and silky” texture that is “long-lasting” and “easily sticks to the eyes”. Most shades have a semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that can be easily applied to bare skin, blends easily and lasts seven to eight hours.

The matte eyeshadows tend to be a bit more powdery in the pan, but are soft and finely ground, while the shimmers have a creamier, denser consistency. Occasionally, the more glittering or metallic nuances are better applied with the fingertips or a moistened brush.

Burning passion

Burning passion is a medium-dark, reddish plum with warmer undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. It was pressed a little loosely in the pan so it had more fallout if I didn’t take care to squeeze / wrap it (or use it with a dampened brush). The eyeshadow was richly pigmented and lasted a good eight hours before visibly fading.

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is said to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra velvety and silky” texture that is “long-lasting” around the eyes.

Most shades are semi-opaque to opaque, blend pretty well and can sometimes be a little drier / powdery compared to typical matte shades. They often wear me eight to nine hours before they fade, but many hues in the Pressed Pigment family leave some stains.
