ColourPop State of Nature Tremendous Shock Shadow Duo Evaluation & Swatches

ColourPop State of Nature Super Shock Shadow Duo ($ 12.00 for 0.07 oz.) Is a new cream and eye shadow duo that compliments the Nude Mood palette. Both shades were very pigmented, mixable and long-lasting.

Fine pearl is a light gold with moderate, warm undertones and a metallic finish and pale pink mother-of-pearl. It had an almost opaque pigmentation that could be built up on bare skin and was applied evenly and smoothly with a fingertip or a brush.

The texture was moderately emollient, light and thin, and quickly dried to a powdery finish. It lasted a good 10 hours without fading or wrinkling.

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow is a cream-based formula that is available in a variety of shades and finishes. The more metallic shades have the most gliding effect (they feel “wetter”), while the more matte ones have a firmer, more clay-like consistency. Almost every shade of ColourPop I’ve tried has been exceptionally long-lasting (over 10 hours of wear, usually there until I remove it, even 14 hours later). Pigmentation can vary from shade to shade, but the average shade is quite pigmented.

Of the feedback I’ve seen from readers, many love it, but some don’t like it at all. They’re not a traditional cream eyeshadow, as they’re denser (more spongy) and are best applied to me with flat, firm, synthetic brushes (I like the MAC 242 and 249). The brand recommends using fingers for the most pigmented application, but I just felt like fingers are required on some shades (usually the super glitzy ones).

The more matte shades can be on the drier side and vary from medium to opaque coverage, although they are often buildable. The edges can be a little tricky to disperse, although some are very nice to work with.

The shimmery shades were the weakest for me as they can be more transparent or harder to apply. Sometimes they’re more pigmented and work like the other finishes in the formula, but often they’re more sheer and just work well on pigmented eyeshadow to add glitter. They do tend to have little fallout over time, however, with occasional hues having a more moderate amount of fallout (but still less fallout than most glitter powder eye shadows).

Deposit class is a deep, copper-colored gold with strong, warm undertones and lighter gold flecks. The texture was smooth, moderately creamy, and thin without being difficult to work with.

It had rich pigmentation in a single layer that adhered evenly to bare skin and blended well around the edges without producing any precipitate. This shade lasted a good 10 hours without wrinkling and had a weak precipitate after eight hours of wear. This version appeared to be less orange and more shiny than the last time I checked it.
