ColourPop Pressed, Venus Slipper, U Develop Lady Colour Stix Critiques & Samples

Depressed

ColourPop Pressed Metallic Color Stix ($ 6.00 for 0.023 oz.) Is a lighter, medium-sized berry with cool undertones and a metallic sheen. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation that was applied fairly evenly, although it was a thinner, slightly stickier formula so it wasn’t as comfortable to apply and layer on the lid (but more comfortable than an eyeliner). It was seven hours before I wrinkled.

Formula overview

$ 6.00 / 0.023 oz. – $ 260.87 an ounce

The formula is said to be “ultrapigmented” in “one go” and at the same time to be “durable” and “water-repellent”. There are two finishes: matte and metallic, and the first release included two shades of each finish, so the chart is based on those four shades which is not too many shades!

One of the four pens was drier, stiffer, and tended to break off when applied. The other three were creamier, with the metallic tones being smoother than the remaining matte shade. The pigmentation varied from shade to shade; it ranged from medium to opaque, with some more buildable than others.

Performance was more consistent when three of the four shades were comfortably applied with somewhat even initial coats. They were miscible for five to 10 seconds before drying to a more shock resistant surface. They didn’t feel heavy or sticky on my lids, and while they were creamy, they didn’t feel slippery when dried, so they wouldn’t settle into fine lines or wrinkles as they dried.

I was able to apply them to the area around my eyes straight from the pencil, but I found that a brush allowed me to apply more evenly and helped me blend the product without losing any of the coverage compared to applying with my fingertip. The hues lasted between six and eight hours before wrinkling on me.

Venus slipper

ColourPop Venus Slipper Metallic Color Stix ($ 6.00 for 0.023 oz.) Has a deeper, warm plum base with a dirty bronze sparkle. The glitters were big enough to make it harder to apply the paint evenly and smoothly as they tended to clump themselves up when I tried to build up the opacity.

This was easier to work with as an eyeliner than an all-over lid product, as it dried too quickly, making it difficult to even out the edge and achieve an even application of color. It lasted a good six and a half hours before I wrinkled.

U grow girl

ColourPop U Grow Girl Matte Color Stix ($ 6.00 for 0.019 oz.) Is a rich burgundy red with cooler undertones and a matte finish. I’ve found this to occur with off-white burgundy tones, but it gets darker as the color builds up, often resulting in bumps, as was the case with this product.

The texture was slightly creamy, denser, and almost sticky, and the latter seemed to make it harder to get really smooth, even coverage. It was incredibly difficult to blend on the lid at all; it might work for a stronger, more defined shape, but not something you wanted to soften along the edges. The paint wore for seven hours before it wrinkled on me.
