ColourPop Pier Stress Tremendous Shock Shadow Duo Check & Pattern S

ColourPop Pier Pressure Super Shock Shadow Duo ($ 12.00 for 0.07 oz.) Is an off-white eye shadow duo that compliments the Coast to Coral palette. The formula is cream-to-powder, so both shades initially felt creamier and smoother, but quickly evolved into a powder-like product once they came in contact with the skin. They were pigmented, mixable, and long-lasting, and consistently worked with the Super Shock Shadow formula.

Sailing away is a light peach base with warmer, orange undertones with flecks of lighter gold and pink sparkles. It had mostly opaque, buildable pigmentation with a moderately emollient texture that was light, thin, and miscible without staining my skin. The formula dried quickly and stayed well for 10 hours without fading or falling out.

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow is a cream-based formula that is available in a variety of shades and finishes. The more metallic shades have the most gliding effect (they feel “wetter”), while the more matte ones have a firmer, more clay-like consistency. Almost every shade of ColourPop I’ve tried has been exceptionally long-lasting (over 10 hours of wear, usually there until I remove it, even 14 hours later). Pigmentation can vary from shade to shade, but the average shade is quite pigmented.

Of the feedback I’ve seen from readers, many love it, but some don’t like it at all. They’re not a traditional cream eyeshadow because they’re denser (more spongy) and best to apply to me with flat, firm, synthetic brushes (I like the MAC 242 and 249). The brand recommends using fingers for the most pigmented application, but I just felt like fingers are required on some shades (usually the super glitzy ones).

The more matte shades can be on the drier side and vary from medium to opaque coverage, although they are often buildable. The edges can be a little tricky to disperse, although some are very nice to work with.

The shimmery shades were the weakest for me as they can be more transparent or harder to apply. Sometimes they’re more pigmented and work like the other finishes in the formula, but often they’re more sheer and just work well on pigmented eyeshadow to add glitter. They do tend to have little fallout over time, however, with occasional hues having a more moderate amount of fallout (but still less fallout than most glitter powder eyeshadows).

In axis is a deeper copper with warm, brownish undertones and an intense, metallic finish. It was richly pigmented with a smooth, emollient texture that was damp to the touch, but quickly turned to a more powdery feel once it came in contact with my skin. The product can be easily applied to bare skin and blended well at the edges. This shade lasted a good 10 hours without fading or wrinkling.
