ColourPop makes it unstoppable Tremendous Shock Shadow Duo Assessment & Swatches

ColourPop makes it unstoppable Super Shock Shadow Duo ($ 5.00 for 0.07 oz.) Includes two sparkling, metallic cream-colored eye shadows: one in a coppery brown shade and one in a warmer red. Both colors were very durable, but one color wasn’t as pigmented as expected and could have been applied a little more evenly.

Main attraction is a medium-sized copper with warm, brownish undertones and flecks of pink and gold that sparkle over a metallic sheen. It had an opaque pigmentation with a smooth, slightly creamy consistency that felt pliable to the touch, but turned into a powdery finish and formula as soon as it came in contact with my skin. It carried well for 10 hours without fading or wrinkling.

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow is a cream-based formula that comes in a variety of colors and styles. The more metallic hues have the most slippage (they feel “wetter”), while the duller ones have a firmer, more clayey consistency. Almost every shade I’ve tried on ColourPop has been exceptionally long-lasting (more than 10 hours of wear, usually until removed, even 14 hours later). Pigmentation can vary from shade to shade, but the average shade is quite pigmented.

Based on the feedback I’ve seen from readers, many love them, but some don’t like them at all. They’re not a traditional off-white eyeshadow as they’re denser (spongy) and are best applied to me with flat, firm, synthetic brushes (I like the MAC 242 and 249). The brand recommends using fingers for the most pigmented application, but I just felt that fingers are necessary on some shades of color (usually the super glittery ones).

The matte shades can be drier and vary from medium to opaque coverage, although they are often buildable. The margins can be a little difficult to even out, although they are very nice to work with.

The glittering colors were the weakest for me as they can be sharper or harder to apply. Sometimes they’re more pigmented and act like the other surfaces in the formula, but often times they’re sharper and only work well on more pigmented eyeshadows to add glitter. They do tend to have little rainfall over time, however, with the occasional shade having a more moderate amount of rainfall (but still less rainfall than most powdered eye shadows with glitter).

millennium is a medium red with warm undertones and flecks of fuchsia and gold. The texture felt slightly pliable, which helped make it easy to pick up with a fingertip or flat synthetic brush. It had a semi-opaque, buildable paint cover, which resulted in the warmer base showing through more noticeably than the initial review of that shade (where it looked darker and less warm tinted). The product was applied pretty evenly to my lid but had to be built up so that it looked really perfect. It stayed on well for 10 hours without wrinkling or falling out.
